Alessandra Mattanza has been invited by Analia Farfan, prima ballerina, producer, choreographer, and founder of the International American Ballet, to create a digital art installation for “YOU ARE MY RHAPSODY IN BLUE”. The beautiful dance was accompanied by the marvelous music of famous pianist Dr. Michael Fennelly and the voice of soprano Megan Weston, directors and founders of the Athena Music Foundation, a non-profit organization, whose mission is to promote and present dynamic music performances to diverse audiences.

Dr. Michael Fennelly gained international attention upon completing George Gershwin’s unfinished “Rhapsody in Blue” setting for solo piano, orchestra, and symphonic chorus, for which he received a knighthood in Spain. “You Are My Rhapsody in Blue” premiered with the National Chorale in Lincoln Center, New York, on October 25, 2016.

“You Are My Raphsody in Blue” was the longer and final performance of “TANGO METAMORPHOSIS”, a ballet of over two hours with tango, flamenco and the stunning voice performance of Mariela Marco, at The Consulate General of Argentina in New York, with the support of the Consul General of Argentina in New York, Ambassador Gerardo (Gerry) Diaz Bartolomé, Minister Maria Belen Alcat and Claudio Rodríguez. It was created, choreographed, and directed by Analia Farfan, with new tangos and dances from the performance that premiered at Jazz at Lincoln Center in 2022.

Alessandra Mattanza created the digital art installation with AI-generated art from the original “Miracle Flowers” canvas for her departed mother, who used to love Gerwish’s music, especially “Rhapsody in Blue.”
